Eight rivers have their pristine headwaters in the Birthplace of Rivers – Pocahontas County: the Cherry, Cranberry, Elk, Gauley, Greenbrier, Tygart Valley, Williams River, and Shavers Fork of the Cheat River. So, if you are looking for secluded streams or rivers surrounded by lush forests, you can explore remote waterfalls and sparkling emerald waters on a canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard, or splash away in picturesque swimming holes.
