East Fork Campground and Horse Stables in Durbin, WV is a great camping spot to explore for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. This campsite is located right on the river and offers great options for camping near the water. The campground is located near a railroad but the train didn’t seem to run too often. During our stay, we enjoyed watching the Durbin Rocket at its tours and the train whistle was something we enjoyed listening to. This place is also great for families who love horses as there are plenty of them on-site. The grounds and bathhouse were exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The owners were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay, even though the season was about to end. Overall, East Fork Campground and Horse Stables is a great camping spot for nature lovers and those looking for a relaxing experience in beautiful surroundings.”
So clean! Friendly, helpful staff. Tents, RVs, horses, etc.Located in a beautiful valley! We tent camped but there are many RV sites and boarding for your horses. They also have horses you can rent for trail rides. Everything was clean, especially the bathrooms! Restaurant, pub (that serves food and is family friendly), and train in town...that's about it. But we didn't need any more. Gas station/convenience store a few miles away.”

Very laid back and enjoyable. We were treated very well and felt most welcomed. Met some fine folks while we were there, too. Easy to get in and out, reasonable fees, great service. Definitely would like to venture to there again.”

Great place! This campground is located in the small town of Durbin. My husband and I spent a weekend and we really enjoyed it. The campground was actually full, however the host, very kindly, made room for us. We set up our tent, in a nice grassy area by the river. BEAUTIFUL! We had a picnic table and fire pit. It was just a great experience. There was live music and lots of beautiful horses all around. I highly recommend and we already have plans to return next year!”

Quiet Campground in a Beautiful Area Beautiful, quiet campground right on the Greenbrier River. Not many frills, but nice big sites right on the river with water and electric. (There are also full service sites but they are not on the river) A small playground and brand new, clean bath houses. Firewood is available at the campground. No cell phone service in the entire area, but the campground does have Wi-Fi that worked well enough to check email and read the news headlines. We used this campground as a base to ride the Durbin Railroad (literally right at the campground's entrance; loved hearing and seeing the steam train run right from our campsite!) and the Cass Railroad (about a half hour away). There is a small souvenir/ice cream store and a small diner type restaurant within walking distance from the campground. So glad we found this hidden gem in West Virginia!”

Wonderful RV Park Next to Durbin Rocket DeportWe loved this place - an attractive RV park right on the river in very easy walking distance of both the depot for the Durbin excursion trains and Durbin's downtown area, which is small but includes a well-stocked grocery store with produce and a good meat counter, and a very nice gift store (The Whistle Stop) selling WV handmade goods - also 2 restaurants (one also a bar), a laundromat, an ice cream parlor, and the Rail & Trail Store at which you buy tickets for the Durbin Rocket, a pretty trip along the river.”

This place is in the quiet zone, no cell service but their have camp Wi-Fi, good friendly service, no light pollution. A wonderful way to look at the night sky. The Greenbrier River goes by the CG, a great place for kids to play; not deep at all. The have a playground for kids too. Their restrooms, campsites, dump area are very clean. The whole CG is clean. They only had 30amps, we had no problems with electricity. We would come back. It is a horse camping place too for them to trail ride, we did not have a horses but it was nice to see. The town is small with the Cass train coming into Durbin Station. The camp doesn't have laundromat; there is one across the street of the CG and train depot. A grocery and gas station of gas and diesel is 3 miles away. You can go to Cass WV to ride the trains going to other places, the Green Bank Observatory, Beverly WV has a nice Museum in town, close to Seneca State Park, Spruce Mountain is near too. We camped at East Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.”

Nice campground in the Monongahela National Forest. 50 miles of West Virginia winding road to access the camp. A steam railroad tour within walking distance. With one of 3 coal burning locomotives of its type in the world. The little town is cute and restaurants are there. If you want to camp in peace this is the place. Very pet friendly and horses are welcome. The Greenbrier River source is Durbin and there are campsites along it. The owners are nice and very helpful. Our site was level and easily accessed. Electric was fine and the water is municipal. A good night's sleep can be had here. We planned to stay a few days and stayed longer. We camped at East Fork Campground in a Fifth Wheel.”

Awesome site clean and well keptThis a 5 star camp for sure, nice clean and well kept. Locked up after 10pm kid safe with great water views”
Nice place on the river! We really enjoyed the campground. Nice bathhouse, nice playground, and beautiful setting. We used it as a base for Cass Scenic Railroad, which is not far from Durbin.”

Peaceful campground on a river We thoroughly enjoyed this campground. Very peaceful, surrounded by mountains. The campground had stables and catered to people with horses, but we felt very welcomed by the owners. The campground was very quiet and is actually very near to what is referred to as "The Quiet Zone." Pocahontas County is home to the Green Bank National Radio Astronomy Observatory, a federal complex whose giant single-dish telescope detects "invisible energy waves" from space. Within 10 miles of the Observatory, the use of cell phones, Wi-Fi, microwaves, and other devices is banned. Most of the sites were full hook-ups and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. This campground in Durbin was great for exploring the north end of the Greenbrier River Trail, The West Fork Rail Trail, and other sites in the Monongahela National Forest. There isn't much in the town of Durbin except the Durbin Rocket, a century-old train, on which riders can experience a 10 mile, two-hour ride.”

We wrote a little poem about Tony! We hope you will join us next year for all the fun times
Ode to Tony!
There once was a cowboy named Tony,
Whose boots were all dusty and stony.
He gave up the range, now things are more tame,
At his campground, he’s built quite a name!
He traded his saddle for a folding chair,
Now he entertains campers with jokes full of flair.
With campfire tales and s’mores on demand,
Tony’s the star of this wild, wooded land.
But wait, here’s old Barry, his partner in crime,
An ex-cowboy too, now living just fine.
Together they strum a tune by the fire,
Cracking jokes ’til the laughter grows higher.
From roping and riding, they’ve come far away,
Now they just wrangle good times every day.
At Tony’s campground, the fun never ends,
With Barry and Tony as your cowboy friends!
