The campground offers various types and sizes of campsites and 50 horse stalls, available on a first come, first served basis, trailer parking and a dump station making it convenient for visitors to bring their beloved horses along for a dream vacation. The campground borders 300,000 acres of National Forest and has easy access to miles of trails, including the West Fork River Trail, Allegheny Trail, High Falls of Cheat, and the Greenbrier River trails, that weave through the lush landscape, where riders can explore the beauty of West Virginia on horseback, creating unforgettable memories amidst the natural splendor. Transportation is also available to take you and your horse out to specific trails so you can keep your personal trailer set up to stable your horse, if needed.
Bring your horse and spend the day or the week (or more) with us and enjoy the best horseback riding Pocahontas County and the Monongahela National Forest have to offer. The clearly marked trails cover hundreds of miles of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine, with views that can take your breath away. Maps of the variety of easy, intermediate, and challenging horse trails have been put together by the Forest Service, and new trails are being added for the coming season.
East Fork Campground and Horse Hotel is more than just a horse camp. We invite you and your family and friends to join us for a few days of hiking, biking, fishing, and campfires. If your horse needs a break, or family members are just not into riding, there are plenty of other adventures to be had in the surrounding area. We’re located just south of a lush and rugged section of the Monongahela National Forest. Since last year, the US Forest Service has been working with the Canaan Valley Institute to remove undersized culverts and replace them with low-ford crossings on FR794. Removing these culverts restores aquatic connectivity, reduces sediment, and improves streams and fisheries downstream. The restoration work helps stabilize the road from the impacts of heavy rains running off the mountain----and our riders can tell the difference. A special thanks to the Appalachian Stewardship Foundation for providing grant funding for this project.

Here is a group of longtime guests at East Fork this weekend who really know how to throw a party! They’ve been coming here for years, and today they’re celebrating a few of their graduates, family, and friends.
On the menu? A good old-fashioned Low Country Boil—shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and all the fixings, cooked up with love and served with laughter. The kind of meal that brings folks together and makes memories that last.
